Self Stacking freezers are nothing new to QPM's founder Jim Heber:his name is on many of the patents for these machines. During 26 years at Frigoscandia ® Jim held various positions leading up to becoming global technical director. After leaving Frigoscandia, Jim began QPM LLC. Jim believed that Frigoscandia® customers could have a better option than replacing an expensive worn out freezer belt-- it could be repaired at a fraction of the cost. While developing and perfecting the repair process, Jim analyzed the FrigoBelt® deficiencies and began to form the basic concept of QBelt. QBelt would be an upgrade to Frigobelt® that would last longer and operate more reliably. For over four years, QBelt was tested, analyzed, and revised when needed. Finally in 2006, QBelt was ready for release. The innovative features of QBelt are described elsewhere in this website.
Mike Wierman joined QPM in 2007. Mike and Jim worked together at Frigoscandia® for over 12 years and Mike was a senior engineer with Frigoscandia's® Helsingborg engineering group. He also has numerous GyroCompact based patents. Since joining QPM, Mike has taken the production of QBelt to a new level of automation and quality control.
